 MTS-4000 is dedicated instrument for FTTx networks (mini OTDR, PON, 3PP, Copper, xDSL). Instrument is modular with two slots for modules and with options on mainframe. It is on market since September of 2008. Instrument is specially developed to fulfill all demands of nowadays and to develop for future FTTx networks. Modular structure enables this easily (modularity is big advantage).
Instrument consists of:
- Mainframe, small dimensions, portabile and easy to use with large color display (7"), which enables good viewing and analyses of results. For navigation uses soft tasters, direct commands, numerical keyboard, navigation tasters and touch screen (optional). Internal memory flash type and stabile (Linux) OS. Two USB ports and RJ45, powermeter, Laser Source and OVF options, Triple-Play (IPTV, VoIP) software option and optical inspection camera which connects through USB port.
- OTDR modules on 1310/1550/1625/1650nm dynamics 32/30/30/28 which is more than enough for FTTx and metro networks. 1625nm and 1650nm can be filtered or not. 1650nm is special wavelength JDSU developed for in service measurements in live systems, because in some systems 1625nm wavelength is in use.
- PON module, selective powermeter which is necessary for testing PON and GPON FTTx networks.
- Other modules: Copper module and VDSL1/2.
